Allen

The Jeff Goodman article states that we will see a new, confident Chris Allen. Just imagine if he is a consistent (or even moderately consistent) threat from the perimeter.

Grumble, grumble

I really dislike Notre Dame. After continuing to duck MSU, Mike Brey had the temerity to take a dig at the Big 10 last year. Plus he dresses like Tommy Amaker.

Brey

is clearly frustrated that he had two amazing players in McAlarney and Harangody, yet still manages to go sub-.500 in conference and misses the tournament. I’m sure he will attribute everything to the difficult Big East schedule, but Notre Dame couldn’t hack it against any Big Ten team (save for Indiana) last year. Penn St. and Ohio St. both beat them.

That's unduly harsh

. . . to Tommy Amaker.

Typical Brey

He’s worried about offense and getting more out of Harangody, when what he SHOULD be worried about is their defense. They were absolutely horrible on D last year, and if that doesn’t improve, whether or not Harangody shoots more from outside won’t matter.

Reports that Allen’s shot is back and Lucas has improved his shot and decision making are encouraging, although I thought Lucas made pretty good decisions last year.

Allen's Shot

I hope that Allen will be a major contributor. It is probably a little early to say that his shot is back. Let’s see what he does in competition. As I recall, last year the team talked about how deadly he was in practice, but it didn’t translate to the games. I am hopeful that he has matured and will find away to be mentally tougher.
