| Last week's ballot | ||
Dropped Out: Brigham Young (#16), Texas Tech (#18), Arkansas (#22), Nebraska (#25).
Games Watched: Michigan vs. Penn State (part), Michigan State vs. Iowa.
Lots of movement this week, including four new teams. I might not even be in the running for the Numb Existence Award this time around . . .
- Texas looked by far the best this weekend, so they're your new #1. I have a very difficult time differentiating between the top three teams now that Alabama looked terrible on Saturday.
- Likewise, Iowa and Cincinnati are awfully close in the next two positions.
- I can't justify ranking Boise so highly anymore. They've played nobody since Oregon (who look great now, FWIW), and won't play anyone else until their bowl game. Shame.
- Penn State looked damned impressive on Saturday.
- Ohio State may be ranked too high.
- Welcome Central Michigan and Notre Dame! (Gross.)

That picture of LaMichael James is weird as hell. Caption says he’s running, but he looks like he’s just standing there in warm-ups.
And now at Beyond the Boxscore and Project Prospect!
Ha, yep.
It was also a pretty boring picture, so I changed it. This one’s better.

The Only Colors
Good call.
Also is it safe here to admit to being a bandwagon USC fan after MSU?

LSU ahead of Boise?
Why? Even if you excuse LSU’s loss on the basis that they lost to one of the top three, LSU hasn’t beaten anyone of note and hasn’t been blowing out bad teams either.
To be honest, I don’t think there’s any justification for USC ahead of Boise either (maybe if they win this week … maybe). You lose to a 3-5 team, you do not belong ahead of anyone who hasn’t lost so long as that team has even one good win (and all of them do).
Would that be UC Davis, who they beat 34-16,
or Miami*, or Hawai’i?

Maybe the 28-21 beatdown at Tulsa?
I haven’t seen one inkling that LSU is a top 15 team yet this year. But if Boise State gets caught looking ahead to the University of Mexico, or Grambling, they might be in for it.

Actually, it would be Oregon
Who’s been kinda good the rest of the year, in case you hadn’t noticed. That’s a much better win than anything LSU has put up to date.
