Game Thread: Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at Michigan State Spartans

Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at Michigan St. Spartans, Nov 13, 2009 6:00 PM CST

That was then. This is now.

Who's your Spartan tonight? I'll say Korie Lucious puts up some nice offensive numbers off the bench in an up-tempo opener.

Radio

Just purchased a new app that tunes into various radio stations… At least I get to listen to the game.

Unofficial mascots

We’re totally reprising Larry and Balki this season, right?

Raymar is playing

Thought he was going to sit this one out.

by TMadison25 on Nov 13, 2009 6:17 PM CST reply actions

Weird...

I thought he was too. Sounded like he thought he was ready and wanted to but that Tom Izzo wasn’t going to let him… must have healed a lot quicker than anticipated and Izzo wanted to help him shake some of the rust off before Gonzaga.

Why?

Should he be playing? No shot and two fouls.

Disappointing Start...

Pretty sloppy.. lot of turnovers…

by MooTheKow on Nov 13, 2009 6:29 PM CST reply actions

And games in general. I don’t know why this team can never come out focused to start a game, and always has tfight against some level of negative momentum. I know it’s only the first game this year, but this is a recurring theme.

KL2

Love to see (hear) the 5-seconds call. Taking over Walton’s spot perhaps?

Passing up shots....

Not sure why McCormick is praising them for passing up like 4 straight wide-open shots… drives me nuts when they do that :-).

What I’d give for an entire game like this last few minutes.

I hear ya...

Started off weak.. but then started playing like they knew they were the far superior team.. started being much more aggressive… good to see.

Along the same line...

Why is it that the Spartans chronically play to the level of their opponents? Crappy teams elicite crappy performances on our end. Mediocre elicits mediocre. Why?

KJ is at the game

And says that Draymond shouted “oh shit.” That can’t be good.
