Bright spot so far is that Roe’s athleticism really seems to have come back since his injury. I’ve heard about it but now I see it.

Walking doesn't mean much...
I had a type-3 (the worst) type of ankle sprain (was out of commission a looong time).. was out for a run then was able to walk a couple blocks back to my apartment afterwards…. couple hour later i couldn’t bend it at all and had to be off it weeks.

we’ve played terribly for about 13 minutes and we’re only down 6. I hope we can hit a couple 3’s and open up the lanes.

13 TO’s and 32% shooting. I can’t believe we are only down 5.
Halftime stats
Sacre/Elias are 7-13 from the field; rest of the Bulldogs are 7-25. Actually keeping Bouldin/Gray in check: 3-14 combined.
Gonzaga with 9 Off Rebs on 25 chances.
12 MSU turnovers on roughly 39 possessions. 4 TOs for Green; needs to settle down and not force passes.
11-12 FT shooting keeping MSU in game.

This is so brutal to watch
Gonzaga is good, don’t get me wrong, but this team is endlessly better then the effort they’re putting forth thus far.
Our Bigs
It will take time, but I look forward to our bigs developing some “go to” post moves: I’m really impressed by the Zag’s big men, who have an array of fall-aways, jump hooks, etc.
(oh, and it would help if Nix can start hitting a free throw…)

We didn’t show up for 25 minutes and still managed to win.
Durrell Summers played like a man possessed.
Positives
I’m excited about Summers and Raymar and, even if his shot isn’t falling early, Kalin is a late game killer.
Very nice win after slow start.
We have to be happy with the way our guys fought back. We know Roe and Draymond (besides his 10 boards) are much better players then they showed tonight, plus we didn’t get much from Lucious and Allen either. We just beat a good team and we can play a lot better.
The Zags are legit. Two stud guys in the post and a couple quality guards.

Game recap later tonight, once I get my heart rate down within normal bounds.

If ever there was game to employ him, it was tonight. Gonzaga had a lot of size and height. I think the most telling moment was when Sherman was sent back in during the first half while carrying two fouls already. That’s going out of your way to not play Herzog.

Outstanding game
I love playing you guys. Always a good time. You are definitely one of the best in the nation because you have players that have ice in their veins late in games. Durrell Summers was simply stunning. That’s what Gonzaga lacks. Bouldin and Gray are okay…but falter in the late game. Hopefully some of our young guys can be that player…I’m thinking Elias Harris but we’ll see.
