Brandan Kearney
Also, Brandan Kearney (’11 MI, 4-star wing) is supposed to be officially announcing tomorrow and every indication has been that the DetNews story claiming he will choose MSU will prove accurate. Supposedly, he was at the exhibition game just a few days ago.
One sweet side note of a verbal from Kearney would be to beat UM for a recruit both schools definitely wanted and whom UM was thought to be in great position with for a long time. If you get off on that sort of thing, of course.

Thanks for the note
FWIW: Unclear to what extent Kearney may have shied away from U-M (or Beilein backed away from Kearney) due to a glut of perimeter guys for 2011.

Yeah, I’d have to follow UM’s recruiting a lot closer to speculate on this with much confidence but I wouldn’t be shocked with Kearney and Brundidge were an either/or, and UM wants to leave the door open for Zeigler, I’d imagine.
But, wearing green goggles with the same bias the led UM fans to claim they beat us for Brundidge, I’m going to make that claim for Kearney even if it is also an oversimplification.

FWIW, Michigan’s situation changed with the Brundidge commit. They need a big and 2010 and are holding out for Zeigler in 2009, so I think Kearney’s offer is now contingent on Zeigler going elsewhere.
Not meant to imply any relationship between the two programs.

Yeah, as I said, I think MSU “beating” UM for Kearney is about as valid as the suggestion that UM got Brundidge from MSU. Both sort of require an asterisk. I will say that UM’s strong interest (at one time) in Kearney is a lot clearer than the assertion that Brundidge was ever a Plan A for MSU.
While I totally understand what Coach B might be thinking, you have to wonder if it’s better to have one in the hand than two in the bush in this case. He must feel really good about Zeigler to back off Kearney. If UM misses on the big three of Prather, Kearney, and Zeigler, I don’t think Brundidge is going to be enough to make any UM fan feel okay about that.

PS, KJ, why can’t I edit my posts to eliminate typos? Whenever I click “action” (where I assume such a function would be) the “action” text literally disappears. Does anyone else complain of this?

No edit function for comments, I'm afraid
Something the SB Nation guys have talked about, but not implemented to date. You can use the “Preview” function if you want to be meticulous about things looking just right.

The "Soul Dong"
The mgoblog post was one of the funniest things I’ve read in a while. I’d even buy a soul dong wristband. Hell, with our football foibles in the past ten years, they should probably be made in Green & White too!

Looks like Minny and UM will be most improved
based on the fact that they have the most sophmore minutes coming back. The good for us: Roe and Green should take big leaps, and we are already pretty much as good as it’s possible to be at PG and Small forward if Lucas and Morgan play as well as they did last year when fully healthy. Lucious stands a good chance of cutting down on the turnovers.
The bad: serious improvement from Summers and Allen would buck the general statistical trend, although we should see marginal improvement from both. Hopefully that will be good enough.
That Mid Majority post was a great read.
