Roe, Green, Summers, Allen, Lucas

The debut of the centerless starting line-up has arrived! No time like Toledo.

Announcers

If someone could invent a device that would allow be to listen to Gus Ganakas through my tv I would gladly pay them $100.

Herzog

Herzog looked like he was in considerable pain on the bench. I think he has a bad case of anguish. I feel for him. He should probably bring a book with him.

On the court

He seems to be laboring too. I know the big guys aren’t the fastest but a possession was starting and Herzog was still plodding up behind the 3-pt line. Strange. It almost looks like a conditioning problem.

And I know I joke about him a lot

but I think part of it is that you really have to give Herzog minutes to see what he has. There’s a speed and rhythm you get from game experience. I wonder if Herzog could actually develop more if he got to play.

Thornton

How many Thorntons are out there. It looks like two or three.

Defense

Some good D by the Spartans, but it looks like Toledo signed a bunch of kids from Bricklayer High.

Roe

I think roe might be at 90%.

It's looking a little like playground time

I’d like to see some better shot selection.

Agree 100%

I like the fast pace of play, but that doesn’t mean you need to always shoot after the first pass past half court.

I love the playground.....

…….I think shot selection has been fine

It's good to see Roe making an impact

That follow up dunk was the most explosive play I’ve seen him make as a Spartan.

Meh....

Second half of the first half was pretty bad… but lot of thornton, dahlman, and Herzog so I guess that’s expected.

sherman and nix

need to get more burn in prep for carolina. Their height is terrifying

by dcspartan1 on Nov 20, 2009 6:43 PM CST reply actions

Did he say "weight stamina?"

As in “Herzog loses weight during games?”

by intrpdtrvlr on Nov 20, 2009 7:21 PM CST reply actions

Big time ouch...

HE could end up being the worst free throw shooter in D-1 hoops… not sure I’ve ever seen a sub-10% free throw shooter before.

by MooTheKow on Nov 20, 2009 7:27 PM CST up reply actions

The thing is

it seems like he usually has the shot centered, but that it’s either too long or too short. Mostly too long.

by Stones1981 on Nov 20, 2009 7:28 PM CST up reply actions

Ye gods

I could shoot 7% from the free throw line. Blindfolded.

by SpartanDan on Nov 20, 2009 8:21 PM CST up reply actions

Frost/NixOn (or rather off)

He pretty much has eliminated himself from playing in the last four minutes of a close game thanks to the practically subzero foul shooting.

by donaldo on Nov 20, 2009 7:37 PM CST reply actions

Nix

Just back. Nix needs to learn to hit free throws. In the mean time he needs to dunk it to make it less of an issue.

Light a man a fire, he'll stay warm for a day.

Ugh

FG % (45.5) higher than FT % (42.3). Only Summers (2-3) and Lucious (2-2) above 50% FT.
