Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio took a bunker mentality to his news conference Tuesday.
Dantonio limited media access to two players for the entire week and didn't release a depth chart for the first time all season.
"We need to talk to the people that understand our situation," Dantonio told the media.

Huh, I think most people “understand the situation.” The “situation” is that this season has been a significant disappointment, marked by terrible pass coverage, poor use of depth at tight end, zero short yardage rushing game, and coaching decisions disadvantageously predictable (see: Iowa and Minn QBs), baffling (why are you putting Nichol now?!?), indecisive (see: depth chart), and stubborn (adjustments, anyone?). I’m not trying to be too harsh but I think Dantonio needs to take some steps to understand the fans’ “situation.”
That quote makes me wonder ...
… if Dantonio “understands the situation”.
Ugh.
What a stupid thing to say. Whats that even supposed to mean? I really try to believe in Dantonio but I’m finding it hard lately. This gives me the same uneasy feeling I had when he made those idiotic “Mike Hart is short” jokes. This on top of the painstakingly detailed “our coaches might not be very good at what they do” posts on this blog lately.
