Big Ten-ACC Challenge Late Game Open Thread

In case anyone is staying up to watch Ohio State and Wisconsin try to get the Big Ten to 6 wins and wants to chat about it.

How 'bout that Illini comeback?  And that Wolverine stinkbomb?

This is a FanPost, written by a member of the TOC community. It does not represent the official positions of The Only Colors, Inc.--largely because we have no official positions.

Illini

Back from 23 down in the 2nd half. Wish I’d seen it.

I flipped to BC-Mich

Then glanced at the score on ESPN.com, thought it was a typo, and went back to it.

Wisconsin leading Duke by 6 at the half

OSU-FSU flirting with PSU-Illinois territory from last year.

FSU

9 turnovers and 6 field goals

by Con-T on Dec 2, 2009 9:16 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Man, FSU looks as incompetent an offense as I’ve ever seen a major-conference team.

OSU up 11 at the half

If both of these hold up, we have ourselves a win.

Difficult to watch

I hate both teams so much, but it’s still so hard to root for Wisconsin in this game. I find myself wincing before cheering when they make a shot. Hopw they can keep it up though.

Know the feeling

I grew up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Trained from birth to consider the Badgers a mortal enemy. But if it finally gets dolts nationwide to stop with the “hur hur why do they call it a challenge?” crap, I’m all for it.

Duke is getting very lucky

But Hughes is keeping the Badgers ahead.

Buckeyes pulling away

48-32 at the moment. Wisconsin up 8, 3 minutes left.

ESPN

Stop trying to jinx our conference! Thanx.

I've got a bad feeling

Duke on 11-2 run in about 1:30

I'm pretty sure this is the first time in my life . . .

. . . that I’ve actively rooted for the Wisconsin basketball team.

Is it just me, or ...

is that the second time this game Duke has gotten away with an up-and-down?

by SpartanDan on Dec 2, 2009 10:15 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Heeeeeeey the Big Ten won!

No thanks to us, but we’ve done our part in the past, I guess.

Ohio State

Is not exactly slamming the door, but it still looks safe.

I'm shocked

that the year the Big Ten finally breaks through and wins the challenge, one of the wins was not from our Spartans. That must be a great sign for the Big Ten as a whole. I am highly doubting anyone wins this league by four games again for a long time.
