Next in the Long Line of Undrafted Football Heroes: Brian Hoyer

12_370x211_medium

After changing shirts for ESPN's cameras -- Twice! From "Reebok" to "Reebok!" -- like someone who thinks he's better than the rest of us, Brian "Two-Shirts" Hoyer signed with the New England Patriots on Sunday night as an undrafted free agent.

(You can see the Freep's obligatory mention here.)

I'm surprised he didn't thank Reebok, actually.

Phew

After the Lions blew picks 1-3 I had a bad feeling they were going to blow another and pick Hoyer just to have another stupid in state pick. While he will prob suffer the fate of Stanton in NE, Hoyer should be happy with this news.

Three-year deal

I assume that means the Patriots intend to keep him around?

I doubt it.

I can’t find whether Hoyer’s contract is guaranteed. (I’m 99% sure that it’s not . . . most NFL contracts are not guaranteed, let alone those for players signed as rookie FAs.) If so, the 3-years thing is sorta illusory, as NE can cut him at any time.

Oh, and I forgot:

OMG he played in the state of Michigan and he was disruspekted in the draft and he’s on the Patriots and OMG HE’S THE NEXT TOM BRADY.

I think

You’re heavily overrating Brady’s mobility at 6.

You may be right

but, on the other hand, I’m probably underrating his dreaminess.

Otis Wiley

Glad to see that OW went to NY Giants today as an undrafted FA. Good luck Otis!
