[Bumped. Hooray, indeed. --KJ]
On the mlive boards, they were talking about safety Roderick Jenerette being back in the fold for the summer after missing last year for what Dantonio called a personal issue.
Even without, him MSU is looking very good in the defensive backfield.
Kendell Davis-Clark, Danny Fortener and Marcus Hyde are all back with starting experience. Add redshirt freshmen Brynden Trawick, sophomore Trenton Robinson and early-enrolling true freshman Donald Spencer, who all got good notices in the spring, to back them up. Then add Jenerette and Ashton Henderson, who was moved to S from CB per the spring depth chart and the Spartans are looking very good there, despite losing one of our best defenders in Otis Wiley.CB looks good, if slightly less deep too with Chris L. Rucker and Ross Weaver as the likely starters, backed up by Johnny Adams, Jeremy Ware and true freshman Patrick White, who enrolled early. Then add to both units the guys coming in as part of the recruiting class in August.
It's one of the best things Dantonio has done, turning the DBs from a perennial liability in the John L. years to strength in two seasons. I think we may be able to win a lot 13-10 games this year, with that defense.
I dared to fan post! Hooray for me.
