Local Baltimore radio is reporting that former Spartan Derrick Mason is retiring. According to the report on 100.7 he has not filed retirement paperwork yet. He recently was trying to get an extension, so it is undetermined at this time whether or not this is genuine or merely a negotiating ploy. He has mentioned in the past that he has found it difficult this offseason to get motivated for work outs. He also recently gave a moving eulogy at best friend Steve McNair's funeral. Which lead's one to believe the retirement may actually happen.
