More info on Marcus Rush from a Relative

Disclaimer: I just got an e-mail from someone claiming to be one of Marcus Rush's relatives.  Take it for what it's worth, but the quick research I did on him makes me believe that he's legit - Pete

Pete,
Read your piece on Marcus Rush in 'The only Colors'. Nice work, but you need to update some stats. He is now 6'3" and tips the scales at 235 to 240 lbs. depending on his last meal. He has benched 385 lbs. on a couple of occasions and also squated 510 lbs. After the squats and a series of 40, 80, and 100 yard sprints he was timed in 4.68 in a 40 on rubber legs. He can take  one step and dunk a basketball and is also a very solid hoopster. Could have been a starter on Moeller's basketball team had he not opted to 'get large' during the offseason in 2009. You might also be interested to know that he beat Greg Jones' sophomore bench record when he did 325, but that was last year. He is much stronger and bigger these days. At MSU he could play any linebacker position (as that is the position he played most of his football playing life), and is certainly a strong candidate at D-End. His ranking is lower with Rivals and Scouts because he played out of position last season for Moeller at DE. At 210 lbs. he was 40 to 100 lbs. outweighed by most of the kids he lined up across in 2008. He still led the GCL in sacks and even had some interceptions at DE against some very talented QB's.
As for Michigan. The visit did occur last Wednesday followed by Lansing on Thursday. The decision for MSU was multifold. They presented the total package with a coaching staff oozing with authenticity.

Awesome if true

Neat to here. Also, I think it’s a good idea for putting rumors/ un-verified info in the Fanposts instead of the main page.

Ugh

Neat to hear. Is there anyway to get an edit function for comments?

That's one of the things being discussed in SBNation right now

If you feel like they should have one, send out an e-mail to support@sbnation.com. Obviously you want someone to be able to make changes to a comment for typos and such, but I wouldn’t want someone to change comments they’ve made in order not to look stupid.

If we are talking about things that need fixed on SB I would love to be able to unsubscribe from blogs. That and not be able to post on blogs you dont subscribe to is a really bad combo. Its lead to some stupid blogs on my list

Good to...

…hear he’s already bigger. MSU hasn’t recruited hugely well at DE recently, or so we think. If we get Olaynian from Warren to go along with Gholston and Rush, we’ll at least be stacked with potential.
