New Developments in Alleged Sexual
The information in this article, and released in the transcript and statement (all of which can be found online as well) pretty much ensure that charges will not be pressed since the sex has been confirmed as consensual and not rape. So don't expect any punishment towards the two still unnamed players.

Something Worth Noting
since the transcript is very hard to find. The girl is reported as telling the players “she wasn’t finished” and essentially asked them to continue. That’s not a rape.
Ooonst ooonst muthafucka!
Here's what I'm reasonably comfortable with
1. There’s lots of ambiguity about what happened that night. The release of more information (transcripts, police report, Dunnings’ statement, etc.) seems to make some of the early conclusions, including the original Michigan Messenger report, appear hasty in terms of assuming the accused’s guilt and especially one party’s admission of guilt.
2. Dunnings apparently feels strongly that the case should not be prosecuted. There’s also no reason to believe he didn’t explore things professionally and thoroughly nor that he’s disinclined to press charges if warranted (the latest MM article even backs this point before it starts drifting off-topic). Also, Dunnings’ line “Based on our review of all of the materials, including the police report, actual interviews, and the specific details that were elicited directly from the Complainant, our office reached the conclusion that no crime had been committed.” is language stronger than necessary and speaks, I think, to his uncertainty about the case and confidence in his decision.
3. We will never know precisely what happened in that room that night. Anyone who tells you that it’s obvious a horrible crime was committed or that it’s obvious that one wasn’t is using some significant conjecture and spin. I think that there’s enough reasonable doubt to forestall a conviction in the court of public opinion but everyone can decide that for his or her self.
4. Cpt is right; it’s about time to let this die, but I wanted to say my piece. I think this is the MM’s last attempt to push their agenda and hold the spotlight as all the over news services let it die. Noble crusade or self-servicing myopia? You can decide.
5. We let neither our love of MSU athletics nor our initial sense of outrage to blur our judgment, but erring on the side of the accuser is understandable and highly forgivable.
That’s my piece. Soapbox out.
Well said on all counts.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. How bout those Biggies and Slappies???
LVS will have a final front-page post on this topic up shortly
Then we’ll be done with this topic.
For now, I’m going to close this thread just to avoid redundant discussion.
