Russell Byrd could miss 2010-11 season
[Bumped. More on this later. -KJ]
When it rains it pours. Bad off-season basketball news continues. Russell Byrd's broken foot may require surgery and force him to request a medical hardship exemption to retain his full 4 years of eligibility.

I can't take anymore bad off season basketball news.
I’m beginning to think that this season will end with a “What if” and it hasn’t even started yet.
Reminds me of Purdue's football team this year
Here’s the injury rundown as I have it. You may need a scorecard:
Lucas – recovering from ruptured achilles
Lucious – arthroscopy for meniscus tear
Summers – “tweaked” knee
Byrd – broken foot (possible surgery)
Thornton – unspecified back injury (requiring brace)
Roe – offseason knee surgery
Sherman – screws removed from foot
Payne – recovering from separated shoulder
really, you also need to take into account
Allen – dismissed from team
(and potentially Lucious for his “civil infraction”)
That sucks, but there have to be other outside shooting threats on this roster.
if we were relying on a lone frosh to be the three-point threat that kept opposing defenses honest, we were in for a long season to begin with.
Come on
The bad news for the bball team has to end some time. He probably wouldn’t have played much this year, but it never hurts to have a 3 point marksman sitting on your bench.
