Prediction Time: Who Ya Got?

We've reviewed this game from every conceivable angle.  Time to take a stand -- what's your prediction for today?  As for mine: at the start of the week I loved our chances, and then I've become increasingly worried as the days have passed -- similar to how I've felt the past two years.  Still, I look at this game and see one complete team and one not-so-complete team.  Our guys have beat Michigan two years in a row and won't be scared by the winged helmet, as MSU teams have been in the past.  41-35 MSU.  Your prediction?

Also, feel free to use this as your open thread for the early afternoon games.  I'll be back with an open thread for the big game at 3:15 or so.

MSU

And I’m feeling more confident watching the early games. The team we beat is winning, the team they beat is doing nothing.

I thnk MSU xan win this game.

In any other season, I don’t think they could win.

This game is not a season breaker. We can lose this game and still have a very, very good season.

It all depends on whether last week’s game was the programing changing game we hope it was.

I think Mark Dantonio is the right coach and has us on the right track. He has the team in the position Nick had it in 1999 before he bolted.

I think MSU wins this game.

Well, it’s either Robinson wins the Heisman because no one can shut him down or its MSU by a landslide. MSU 45 – UM 24.

I declare you the winner

A little high on total scoring but only two points off on margin of victory.

Courtesy of Michael Rosenberg:
Rosenberg_Mike: Indiana had 568 yards against Michigan last week and has 65 in first half against Ohio State today.

That does make me feel better about our game today

but Wiscy doesn’t exactly look great today playing at home vs. Minnesota. Although they did just score to go up 21-9 in the 3rd.

As long as Cousins doesn’t have one of his WTF?!? interceptions he’ll have a great game.

Same thought.

I wished UW would have rolled in this game so I would feel better about our performance against them.

However the OSU/IU game was over at half. This gives me reason to believe we can have some success against UM’s defense.

Illinois looks pretty damn good

They are up 27-13 at PSU. It’s not going to be an easy game next week.

the question is

is Illinois good, or is Penn St bad?

before the season, a friend of mine told me Penn St has been way overrated. He’s looking more and more right every week

Just from watching for a while...

…Illinois is solidly mediocre. Defensively they are not particularly impressive; their D-line is getting absolutely manhandled by Penn State’s O-line.

Offensively, Illinois has been successful with a solid, Cousins-like performance from Scheelhaase and the running backs. Very much an MSU-like offensive performance.

Penn State appears to be a below average, young team. Lots of mistakes. Terrible performance by Bolden today. Defense can’t stop the run. All positive indicators for the final MSU game of the season.

Considering that Michigan's defense...

…gave up 35 to Indiana — the same Indiana that has only scored 3 on Ohio State — I’m changing my predicition:

MSU 70, Michigan 35.

I know, I know...

…though I still say that Iowa’s defense is the best, but OSU’s is not too far behind.

But Indiana’s offense has just looked totally lost for the brief period of time I have watched today.

Yes

but in a match up between one of the best offenses as some posters on mgoblog claimed and the best defense, I’d expect more than 3 points.

Also, Penn State is really really bad this year.

the Fighting Zookers dominating? Today’s real WTF moment.

So looks like Illinois gets its first win in Happy Valley. Ever.

Does this mean we have a better chance to get our first since ’66?

A win today sets us up for some very special things.

First 3 straight against UM since the ’60’s. A chance to “own” all 4 rivalry trophys at the same time for the second time in 4 years.

Under Dantonio we’re breaking a lot of these “couldn’t, haven’t won’t” streaks.

I hope it continues.

I don't think Pete ever posted his lock of the week, did he?

I suspected it was Wisky over Minnesota, since it was the only one he picked both SU and ATS.

And he would have been right. Holy cow, either Minnesota is really bad or Wisconsin is pretty good, which makes Michigan State EVEN BETTER.

A little from column A, a little from coloumn B

Same thing with whether PSU is bad or is Illinois good
