Our identity and branding process is nearing completion and is on schedule for a complete rollout in April. The elements and applications of the brand design will be unveiled collectively at that time. After careful consideration, we will use the current Spartan logo design, first used in the late 1970s, to build our visual brand identity.

Woot
I was sick of other blogs mocking us with that new thing.
Light a man a fire, he'll stay warm for a day.
Light a man afire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
Celebrate!

My contrarian internets persona is confused...
…I now miss the old new logo.
I look back fondly at the times we had when we were four weeks younger, it’s newness being such a big part of our lives. Discecting it, mocking it, even being ok with it late at night after a couple. Now all we have is its newly old newness to reminisce on. It’s unfair. Much like the first Hulk movie Hulk face before redesign, I’ll always wonder what the old new merchandise would have looked like with the old new logo.
Power to the Alumni & Students
The current logo was chosen by a vote and the new logo was rejected in the same manner.
Cool
And so Coach Izzo doesn’t have to get to angry about MSU fans being mean to Hollis, this part is a good idea.
“After assuming the Athletic Director position, one of my initial objectives was to outfit each of our sports teams in a consistent manner and to do so as a component of a unique and cohesive national brand identity program.”
Hopefully, it means pick a green and stay with and simpler, classic-looking basketball unis.

![For those wondering whether the new logo would be on the field, the sad truth has been revealed.
