NMSU players didn’t exactly exude class with their post game comments.

Lane violation call “changed the whole game.” Complaining about not being able to talk trash.

Makes me that much more relived we didn’t lose to that team.

Big East

Really impressing me so far.

Can you imagine if all the Big Ten teams advance tomorrow? 4/5 teams from the Big Ten making it into the Sweet 16 while over half the Big East teams are out before the end of the weekend.

Light a man a fire, he'll stay warm for a day.
Light a man afire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

by Seer on Mar 20, 2010 2:28 PM CDT reply actions

More importantly

the Big East teams lost to lower seeds: the answer to that is the selection committee’s poor job on placing teams thanks to their stupid bias to the big east.

Minnesota losing to higher seed doesn’t bother me, but Villanova, ND, Georgetown, Marq’s losses indicate that the big east is not up to what the committee has hoped for.

by MKgreen on Mar 20, 2010 3:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Not according to Seth Davis...

he still contends the big east is the best and it is about ‘match-ups’ or some such nonsense.

by MooTheKow on Mar 20, 2010 3:33 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, he's right

It is about matchups. And any team that gives a damn and doesn’t let itself get intimidated is a bad matchup for the Big East.

Interview with Maryland blog Testudo Times is here.

Spectacular FAIL on that last possession by Murray State. Just can’t be that stubborn about trying to dribble out of a double team in that situation.

So close

That was one of my two big shocks in the Sweet 16 (I don’t consider St. Mary’s a big shock), partly because I had them playing UTEP.

Half of them didn't even make the tourney

But I don’t think we can claim “best of last year’s Final Four” unless we get past Maryland. Otherwise it’s a schedule quirk because Nova played first.

Comment few days ago from a KU fan:
There is a theme to Kansas’ two losses this year (other than the fact that they were both on the road), and that is, the only way you can beat them is to (1) hope that their guards have an off night shooting the ball while (2) having your guards shoot your way past them from three. And we’re not talking shoot well, we’re talking shoot lights out – Tennesee shot 9-18 from three and Oklahoma St. shot 10-19. That’s really it, barring an injury to one of their star players.

Well, UNI isn’t completely shooting the lights out, but Sherron Collins is 0-5 from three.
