(And by "Bust," I mean "a loss that would have epically disastrous consequences for the psyches of both the Michigan State basketball team and its fans.")
Mrs. KJ and I are headed to Breslin to take in the biggest MSU-UM game (from our end at least) since--well, since I don't know when.
Let's bring it boys. Suffocate Manny and DeShawn. Close out hard on Zack and Stu. Get the ball to Raymar and Day Day in the lane. Crash the boards with abandon.
Go State. Beat Michigan.

All his reactions are great! I love his intensity. I wish there was a picture-in-picture that just stayed on him on the bench.
Michigan's 3s aren't falling
And when their 3s aren’t falling, this is what happens to them.
That last offensive possession pretty much illustrates our MO so far.
Allen had a decent look early in the shot clock, but he pulled it back, dumped it inside, and we ended up with the layup on the rebound. Fantastic.

There is no reason to ever do a jump pass in the backcourt when you're not being pressed.
I’d ask what he was thinking, but there might be a faulty assumption involved in that question.

If this keeps up, we actually have a shot at living up to expectations in the tournament.

I don't much like that rule
I’d rather they play on if the ball is clearly coming to the non-violating team. But that isn’t the rule, and the refs blew that one.
Nice to see the other team get Hightowered for once.
Wow, they gave it to him.

Sloppy plays like that are the only reason this game isn’t an epic 2000-style beating.

Defense seems to be letting up a bit
Either Michigan finally figured out something, or the guys are thinking they could watch Michigan in the layup line the rest of the day and still win.
Raymar went to the bench..
Same thing happened in the first half when they went up 17 for the first time too didn’t it?
Foul before the shot
Not much of one, and it would have been another foul on the shot if Hightower had been decidedly unHightower and let the first one go.
Aaaaaaaaaand MSU letting up big time...
making stupid plays on offense and forgetting to defend… disappointing… would like to see a stellar 40 minute effort without these lulls.

But since they play at least 4 times a year (often 5 or 6 thanks to the GLI and conference tourney), it’s harder to keep a streak like that going.
How about we not lose focus badly enough ...

I really believe that if Herzog wasn't planning on being back
he would have organized to participate in Senior Day. But who knows.
