MSU-'Cuse in the Garden
Michigan State and Syracuse will play at 9:00 on Tuesday, December 7, at Madison Square Garden as part of the Jimmy V Classic.
Totally a preview of what will be a regular match-up in the Big Ten Basketball Tournament championship game in coming years, right?
Rexrode has a quick rundown on what looks to be another nonconference schedule more than worthy of a top-5 team.

KJ, what's a reasonable pre-season expectation?
Syracuse, possibly UConn or Kentucky, and possibly at Duke or Maryland at home. What do you think the record will be in those games? I’m thinking expecting anything better than 2-2 is a stretch.
Don't forget
Texas at home, and I’m unsure if we go to Gonzaga as well.
So with the Syracuse, 2 Maui games, At Duke (Duke’s played at Big Ten arenas past two years – they’ll probably get a home game) and Texas at home, I think anything less than 3-2 is a disappointment. Kentucky will still be raw at that point, UConn’s no great shakes, and we should be able to take one out of three of Texas at home, an away game at Duke, and what’s basically an away game in NYC against Syracuse.

Set the bar high
I say we go for 4-1 at a minimum. I’d love to see next year be the year where we play up to the high expectations from the get-go. We’ll have the horses, and if they are all healthy, it will be time to make a statement.
Gonzaga is 2011-2012
According to Rexrode anyway
Another idea for whiling away the summer
It might be fun to have Izzo’s “Anyone, anywhere” map posted on the site. I’m thinking of a google map that pins all of the cities in which MSU has played in the Izzo era (maybe one color for playing there, another color for winning there). Facebook has a “Cities I’ve been to” app—the TOC facebook page could use that application to generate the map.
