In one day expansion talk will be back on the menu.
Light a man a fire, he'll stay warm for a day.
Light a man afire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
Reminds me of that scene from SpaceJam
Where the NBA players are laying their hands on the ball to get their talent back.
Doesn't sound good for Allen...
From Rexrode’s blog:
6. MSU’s players showed up and showed support, taking turns hugging Izzo amid questions. The only current member of the team who didn’t go on stage was Chris Allen, who stood in the back of the auditorium. Allen’s status remains in some kind of limbo.
I'd just assumed he wasn't there
That’s weird that he was, but not up front.
It's going to be a good night.

Interesting
I assumed he wasn’t in the building. It’s actually kind of good to hear that he was at the press conference. Seems like he still has a chance to play for the team next year.
allen
did izzo make a reference to him durring his speech or was that just me? he said something along the lines about a situation on the team, but its unfair to speak out about it and now him and the person are closer than ever.
i hope summers can guard hummel not to mention kobe..
I think
Izzo was referring to a reporter who published a story Izzo thought was off the record….can’t be sure though.

My wish
Years from now, when Izzo reflects on this moment, I hope he comes to the conclusion that he made the right decision. I believe he will.
Now in other business, if we can take the weight Nix has shed and transfer it to Sherman, we’re looking good in the post.
If we had a weight transfer machine like that
it would have been used a couple years ago to transfer Day Day’s lost weight to Herzog so sadly, I don’t think we have one of those.

Congratulations
Hope you don’t mind a UK fan stopping by to congratulate Izzo and the Spartans.
I appreciated Izzo’s comments at the press conference about due diligence, but honestly, I can’t imagine why he would even consider leaving MSU for the NBA, regardless of what LeBron does.
Rick Pitino famously said that the biggest mistake he ever made was leaving Kentucky for the Celtics.
Our current coach didn’t have much fun in the NBA, either.
I just hope Coach Izzo realizes that at the MSU program he has built, he is at the top of his profession.
His presence is not good just for MSU; its good for all of college basketball.
Congratulations to all.
Thanks for the post. Pitino’s “seat belt” comment made me feel better. My guess is that Izzo reached out to him and a few other college coaches who made the jump to the NBA. If so, thanks Rick!
