Stepping aside | Detroit Tigers Weblog
OT: I want to take a moment to salute Bill Ferris as he semi-retires from blogging at the Detroit Tigers Weblog. Bilfer is the guy who helped get me started as a sports blogger--a genuine pioneer and a leader in the field (he's been doing this for 9 years--a very long time in internet years).
Kudos on a job well done.

I saw this headline on my RSS feed and, for a second, thought I was losing both Bilfer and TOC in one day. That would’ve been a bit much to handle before 9:30.
I think a lot of great sports bloggers started because Bilfer set such a great example with insightful, thorough, and well-written articles.
