"Like the guys wearing No. 2. Returning wide receiver Mark Dell, for one. Five-star freshman recruit William Gholston for another. And Mylan Hicks, another high-profile freshman and defensive back, had No. 2 on as well. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said it wasn’t to confuse anybody. 'I know the difference between the guys and that’s all that matters,' Dantonio said. 'They said they were No. 2s. They are wearing No. 2s. It will sort itself out.'
Ha, really? Nobody thought that this would be a problem? That the two biggest defensive recruits wouldn't end up on the field together this season? This will lead to some epic RPS matches to "sort itself out." - Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio touts stronger football team | MLive.com

While Roushar acknowledged he would like to have a definite starting five as soon as possible, he conceded this may not happen until real games get under way. Dantonio echoed the same, stating, "I think you can play a couple games, especially on the offensive line, work people in there."

If Gholston is good enough to play LB here as a freshman
The rest of the Big Ten better just start cowering now. I mean, it’s mind blowing to see pictures of him and think: this guy is only 18.
Light a man a fire, he'll stay warm for a day.
Light a man afire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
AAARGH rotating offensive line?!
You’ve got to be kidding me. You can rotate WRs without difficulty. You can rotate RBs without difficulty. You can rotate QBs as long as both are effective (this was emphatically not the case last year, and it didn’t take four games to figure this out). But you cannot mess with the OL unless you have a very good reason to. Cohesion is absolutely critical on the line so everybody knows their blocking assignments. (It’s one reason the Vikings were so consistently good in the 1990s – the entire OL played together for about six seasons straight without injury or departure from the team.)
Cousins is one of the top three QBs in the league (where among those three is dependent on whether Pryor’s arm-punts turn into laser-guided missiles and whether Stanzi can remember which color his guys are wearing this week), and we have plenty of capable RBs, but none of that is going to matter if we juggle the OL so much that it turns into a revolving door (both in terms of who’s playing there and in terms of how quickly the DL breaks through it).

Not sure if anyone has checked out the photo Gallery from media day on msuspartans.com
The guys look good… and the uni’s don’t look all that bad… I actually like the helmets…
By the way...
Did nobody notice the article about Maxwell and Moulton?
“Later, after I finished my workout, Saginaw High’s DeAnthony Arnett, a top Division I prospect, showed up to work out with them”
Really? REALLY? Seems to me like that should have gotten some significant mention. God, we are such a basketball school
I mean that in the best possible way
Sometimes I just feel like football gets pushed by the wayside.
Sure doesn't....
….seem like a bad thing for our chances of landing him that DeAnthony Arnett is choosing to work out with Maxwell.
