Donavon Clark!
Scout and ESPN have reported that Clark has verbaled(ized?) to MSU. This is a huge get for the spartans.
"Clark has the playing strength to dominate as a run blocker." that is the first line for the ESPN analysis. hes listed as a three star 78 for espn and a 4 star on scout. At 6-4 295 he seems to already have some good size on him. Coupled with that, both espn and scout say he is extremly explosive and powerful, just needs some work on technique--which seems standard for most lineman.
good get for MSU---GO GREEN!!!

Fortunately ....
Doran Grant is rated much higher that Valdez Showers, I think we’d rather get him if it came down to both of them (and that probably is the case).
Besides, how bright can old Valdez be…he said he went to Florida for the strong academic program (I start laughing everytime that comment comes to mind).
Plus…we need O-lineman, real bad. Probably the weakest part of the team year in year out. Got to go back to the Perles era to see any serious run blocking OG / OT in the lineup.
In two ranking systems UF is listed above MSU for "academics".
The University of Florida is one of the strongest schools in the SEC…which I realize isn’t saying much…but USNWR has it at 47, ahead of quite a few Big Ten Schools including our own beloved Spartans.
Now if you were laughing because you realize that Division I football players have a fulltime job which means that any academic merit a school has goes untapped by said athletes…I’d understand.
I would lso hope that our future offense linemen don’t use the “supplements” that the Perles era linemen did.
Hopefully...
…though beating OSU for an Ohio kid isn’t exactly something MSU does every day. We sure could have used Showers, but I can’t feel to bad about losing out to Florida in football.
