Arrogance in Ann Arbor?
If any of you follow our "Little Sister" site maizeandbrew, they have written a series of articles about which players from their oppenent's teams they should hate. And yea... its as arrogant and vain as it sounds. So who do the writers hate from MSU? Who else but Greg Jones! their rationale for it? Because he is an All American and a Spartan.
Heres the quote:
I don't think I need to belabor this point too much. He's a Spartan. He's an All-American. He's All-Big Ten. He's a pain in the ass.
Let me put it this way, Michigan State hasn't won three straight games against Michigan since 1965-1967. Lyndon B. Johnson was President. This must stop now.
heres the article:

Jeez.... Do other people find this kind of attitude in most Michigan fans? Or is it just all of my friends in Ann Arbor?

Don't see the arrogance
They should hate Greg Jones, as they note, he’s a Spartan. They hate us, we hate them, everyone is happy. The thing that gets me is when they play like they don’t care about their rivalry with MSU. Two wins in a row and there’s no more of this, ’Oh, we care about Notre Dame and OSU more." Maybe they do, but they really want to beat MSU this year. A couple of writers have even pointed to the MSU game as a must-win for Rodriguez to keep his job. That would be interesting, if they went, say, 7-5 with a bowl AND a loss to MSU for the third straight year.
It seemed pretty good-natured, as hate goes. They also make an insightful point, probably based on last year’s game, that them trying to run first against MSU’s defense is not going to go well for them. They couldn’t do much on the ground last year, but when they opened it up, we all remember the lead disappearing like Michigan versus their 2009 Big 10 schedule. We’ll see if Rodriguez is smart enough come October to throw first, throw second and run third.
AA does not = Ann Arbor
AA= Axis of Arrogance
Close. It only counts in Horseshoes, hand grenades and Penn State football.

Take it as a Compliment
Three years ago we were the “little brother”…and after the Booby Williams era ended we had basically become irrelevant to UM, who saw only OSU and Notre Dame as “rivals”.
At least now those SOBs are worried about us.
