Blogpoll Ballot: Week 4

Relatively little movement this week:

  • Nebraska jumps ahead of TCU and Boise by proving that they have an offense.  Their 56-21 victory over Washington in Seattle has to be the most impressive win of the week.
  • Arizona jumps 4 spots and Iowa loses 7 spots.  I expect the Hawkeyes to recover just fine, thankyouverymuch.
  • Stanford cracks the top 10.  That team is going to destroy Notre Dame this week, I think.
  • Dinging Wisconsin 5 spots after a win over a Pac-10 might be a bit harsh, but 1) they really didn't look very good, and 2) I don't think Arizona State is very good, either.
  • Penn State stays stagnant.  Their defense is going to win plenty of Big Ten games for them, but without decent production from Evan Royster they look lost on offense.
  • OH HAI Michigan State's at 23.  I'm pretty sure that won't bring about the Coulter-Kos award [fingers crossed].

Hey, we cracked the top 25

I guess if UM belongs then we do too. I’m not completely sold on them or us at this point. In our case I’ll think we’re a contender when we start defending the pass passably. Fun weekend win though.

I think Wisconsin is about right at #18.

Definitely overvalued at #11 AP, #15 Blogpoll. They have played 3 crappy teams, letting UNLV hang 21 points on them — the same UNLV that only put 7 on Idaho.

Losing their stud MLB Chris Borland definitely won’t help. Tolzien has decent numbers, but isn’t being asked to do much — Wisconsin is 67%-33% run-pass balance right now.

Calling it now: MSU is 5-0 heading into Ann Arbor with a looks-closer-than-it-was win over a 1-AA opponent and a narrow — 2 or 3 point, maybe — victory over Wisconsin.
