I missed a week with the BlogPoll, but it's back this week. Believe you me, it has turned into no less of a tire fire since the week off. Here it is:
Explanations after the jump.
- I feel pretty good about teams 1-7. Alabama would be higher if they didn't lose at home, but their offense didn't do squat against LSU when Oregon's and West Virginia's did, and that should be worth some sort of demotion. Boise State might stay at 7 the rest of the year -- very few games to boost them, but teams keep falling, so they hold steady.
- Second tier -- teams 8-14. One-loss teams with weak schedules, or two-loss teams with good schedules. The iffiest of these teams to me is Texas -- their two losses are to good teams, and I honestly feel they'd beat Virginia Tech and MSU on a neutral field, even if the Longhorns' resume might not technically be as good.
- Third tier -- teams 15-21. Two-loss teams with few good wins, and Houston, who could be anywhere really.
- Fourth tier -- teams 22-25. TIRE FIRE CENTRAL. Cincinnati's your obligatory Big East team, Southern Miss. only has one loss which means something at this point in the season, and Baylor and TCU are back because remember Labor Day weekend? That was sweet.
If anyone wants to make a good argument for any team, go for it, because I can't believe I have to rank 25 teams week after week.
