Whooo! DOJ
5 huge block for Roe. He was such a man today.
announcers just said 7 blocks
record for MSU BTT performance
Woooohoooo!
Who else can’t wait to see the 4 Factors from this game?
Well, one of them is going to be completely invisible.
Purdue didn’t even hit 10% on the offensive glass.
I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left-hand side.

How about
Beat Purdue
Beat Wisconsin
Crush UofM — Win the Big Ten Tourney
No one will remember anything from the regular season
If not, whatever. We did what we needed. What a great game. We played like Spartans!
Great effort
3 stars go like this.
- Mike Kebler – Tied career high and played terrific defense
- Delvon Roe – Monster on defense and boards plus some big post ups late.
- Kalin Lucas – Need I say more?
the numbers should've been reversed
not sure how that happened.

Green struggled with his shot
but you are right. Both contributed in a variety of ways.
He's a very good rebounder for a guard
During last 8 games he’s averaging 4.8 rpg.
He's done that all season.
Big reason why the Charlie Bell comparisons seem so apt.

Very similar players
I think Appling may have a bit more upside on offense
Yesssssssss!!!! Woooooooooo

Play like this, and we will be a nightmare come tournament time.
That was classic Mich St. Put them on their butts and earn the ridiculous amount of foul calls.
The clock couldn't move fast enough ...
Purdue made a run and we got the lead back up to 20! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Reservation for Mr. Izzo,
I mean, wow
Prior to the game, I believed that MSU could take this one. But by that scoreline? Not a chance in the world. That was an absolutely unbelievable, complete, fantastic, inspired performance. Best since at least the Tennessee game last season.

I'd argue best since Louisville '09.

Izzo just referenced that game in the presser
Said that the team/coaches “were all in it together” before the game tonight, just like they did before the Louisville game.

Still one of my favorite MSU wins of all-time.

That was a thing of beauty.
I particularly loved the three-minute possession after we had taken control that consisted of five missed shots, five offensive rebounds, and finished with an alley-oop.

Anybody else watching 'Cuse - UConn?
Man what happened to Kemba Walker? Two years ago he could barely hit a 15 footer and was pretty lost on offense. Now he is just incredible. He is my Player of the Year, hands down.
Finally we see the #2 preseason ranked team...
Let’s keep this going and see what we can make of this season. GO GREEN!!!
So rooting for PSU?
No worries about bubble size anymore at all? Better match up tomorrow right?

I want Darius Morris.

I'll wait for the Big Dance for that
I don’t want them to have the satisfaction of upsetting OSU
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
if they beat OSU
then we get to (hopefully) face them for the championship. Are you kidding? I love to wipe the floor with them and get that trophy for the first time since god knows when. Im used to MSU being out at this point. And Ive now gotten way to used to losing to UM, lets exact some revenge.
But first things first
I think we just went to the top of the bubble heap.
But even so, we’re definitely ahead of BC, Georgia, Colorado, and probably Illinois (and even losing to Penn State wouldn’t hurt us badly enough to undo that). And we’re probably ahead of most of the teams that are still alive (Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, VT) as of now; unless a bunch of them pull upsets tomorrow we’ll stay that way.
Our chances might not be 100% right now, but they’re probably 99.9%.

Looks like PSU was inspired watching us play
up 10-zip at the under 16 timeout
Wisconsin is just saving it for NCAA tournament
where they will make their real run.

Sticking with the Dumb & Dumber theme today regarding State
“Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!”
2 points in 10 minutes for Wisconsin.
I know they play slow but….
Well its obvious
that there is some advantage of getting the legs moving a day early and then meeting a bye team (this effect is definitely lost in the 3rd or 4th game though).
I wonder how this will effect the 12/5 or 11/6 match ups with the teams that played earlier in the week. Not only will they not be sitting all week but their opponent will not know what team to prepare for until later in the week. I would not be surprised at all to see a few upsets in those games

Holy crap - someone call the ASPCA

Ye gods.
Wisconsin on pace for … 16 points. For the game.

Wisconsin
is 4 of 17 from the field and has 9 points with 4 minutes left in the half. They need to get scorching hot just to hit 20. Points for the half.
5 points in the last two possessions
regular scoring spree
Lucas scored 18 points 10 and a half minutes in
Wisconsin as a team has 13 with 2 to play in the half.
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
When is the last time a Spartan scored 30 in a game?
Off the top of my head, I can’t remember any Spartan doing so since Chris Hill hit 10 3’s in a loss again ’Cuse and Carmelo.
Jimmer Fredette
Has 33 points in the first half right now. No that is not a typo. All from the field by the way. Hasn’t shot a single FT yet.
Excuse me while I remove my jaw from the floor.
One man team.

Badgers are back to within 4. Closed half on 14-2 run.
PSU missed their chance to bury them (only 2pts in last 10 min). It’ll come back to bite them—I bet the Badgers win this going away. I hope I’m wrong, though.
Lights out
Describes the way we played and my reality. The electricity went out during half time. After a few well-placed f-bombs, I headed to the local sports bar and caught most of the second half. Just a gutty performance by a team that has been looking for a game like this. I missed you TOC guys, but the crowd at the bar was decidely pulling for State. The guys are going to be spent physically tomorrow, but flying high emotionally. Should I root for Penn State, or do we want them out of the discussion? In any case, I’m looking forward to dancing again.
The bubble is no longer a concern.
Not unless every team on the bubble pulls a major upset tomorrow and there are multiple bid thieves.

At this point
all I want from the PSU-UW game is for the winning team to be really tired. There’s a lot of standing around by both teams, their legs might be fresh for a game with actual play calling
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
Also, I'm switching to the ACC tourney until this starts back up
I guess I’ll root for FSU because there’s no such thing as too safe
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
This is incredible
5 minutes into the second half Battle and Brooks are a combined 2-13 and have 5 points between them… and Penn St is up 2.
I think I'll go watch some paint dry . . .
would likely be more interesting than this PSU / UW snoozefest.
Penn State- Wisconsin
I don’t think either team should be allowed to advance after this pathetic showing.
There's no doubt in my mind
that if Wisconsin ever finds themselves on the bubble that their style of play may play against them in the committee.
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
agreed
Whoever wins, color me nervous because both are due for a hot shooting night after this brick fest. Taylor Battle has had two straight horrible shooting nights now. Knowing his history against us, I have a bad feeling if we have to face him.
So...
Jimmer still has a shot to outscore PSU and Wiscy combined… Sad/Amazing!
he gave it a shot
Wisconsin – 33 points on 15 of 51 shooting
Penn St – 36 points on 13 of 39 shooting
Jimmer – 52 points on 22 of 37 shooting
PSU just got hosed
One bad call makes a much bigger difference in a game like this
Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude
Hightower should be fired from reffing...
that was AWFUL and he was standing RIGHT THERE watching. How can you not call that?
and how the hell was the tackle on Battle there not an intentional?
Good lord Hightower sucks.
Can I add one more
“WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!”
I’m really busy this weekend at a conference but puts things aside, including my indifferent friend’s convenience, to watch the game tonight. Well worth it.
"And how much are intangibles worth? 10%? 20%?" - kj@theonlycolors
Woohoo
get PSU instead of Wisconsin!
What a terrible terrible game… 16 and 17 pts in the half by each team.. 18 total points in the last 30 mins of the game… amongst the worst basketball i’ve seen.
Can't wait for the game tomorrow Sparty!
PSU v. MSU is always a good one. If Gus is calling again, watch out.

Maybe we did need today's win.
Clemson, VT, Michigan, PSU, St. Mary’s, Alabama, Richmond, Memphis, UTEP all win; USC and BC are done; Georgia, Colorado, and Illinois would have been close calls for us even with the loss.
That said, of the bubble teams in contention: with today’s win we’re clearly ahead of Georgia, Colorado, USC, BC, the UTEP-Memphis loser, St. Mary’s, Utah State (if they need an at-large) and probably Illinois as well. Which means the nightmare scenario now is a First Four game and even that isn’t likely.

Deeeeefense!
That’s what we looked like in the tournament last year at that end of the floor; active and relentlessly working. I hope it’s sustainable…GO GREEN!
Hungover prediction:
PSU turns it over 20+ times today because they are just so damn ecstatic to be out of the clutches of whatever the hell it is Wisconsin calls that game they play.
Woo/yay
I’m on the road with my band so I had to “watch” on my phone app. Still exciting. Was kind of hoping for a Wiscy win since we’re playing in Madison tomorrow. Hopefully the game will be on at the bar anyway. Great win and let’s take it to the final.
