There was a FanPost here stressing about how all the best in-state recruits are going to the University of Michigan this year. Last night I said I wasn't going to delete it, but on second thought I hid it. I understand your frustration, and I feel it too -- I'd like all the best athletes in the state to wear Green and White. However some times it's not going to happen, and some times many of them are going to go to Ann Arbor. It sucks, but there's only so much the coaching staff can do. I'll be blunt: to assume the coaching staff is resting on their laurels is a gross oversimplification, and I doubt anyone has solid information to make such a claim.
You may be angry but keep these two facts in mind -- recruiting isn't the be all end all of college football, and there's many different teams this past decade who have succeeded with lower-ranked recruits.
The second -- and I'm going to bold this because I want you all to remember this -- This site is read by many recruits and their family members. Bashing recruits you've never or barely seen will not be tolerated, and could get you banned. Crying about quality of recruits on blogs can only hurt MSU; please keep this in mind when you post about recruiting.
In addition, I want to say that 99% of you are awesome posters, and I enjoy reading everything you have to say. It's just that 1% who attack recruits on little more than opinion I have to watch out for, and if you feel something's out of line, flag it and bring it to my attention.
Lastly, of course Michigan fans are bragging about how good their in-state recruiting has been -- it's not like they've had much to brag about lately. Have a nice day y'all, we've got some great content for you this week.
