I'm back from Peru.  Thanks to T-Con, LVS, intrpdtrvr, and all of you for filling in so well in my absence.  With that said, welcome to the first matchup of the 2011 Favorite Spartan Athlete bracket!  Here's the way it'll work:

• There will be a different poll each weekday, or at the very least I'll try my darndest to have one up.
• Each poll will last for three days.
• The athlete with the most votes will move on to the next round.  In the (odd) case of a tie, the TOC staff will cast the tiebreaking vote.

With that said, let's break down the first two candidates, All-American Linebacker Greg Jones and NCAA champion wrestler Franklin Gomez.  I'll have mini-biographies up on them later tomorrow afternoon, but for now use this post as a placeholder for your thoughts and memories.  Thanks for reading, and there'll be more substantive content in the days to come.
