The first of two commitments that came yesterday, Farmington Hills Harrison wide receiver Aaron Burbridge became the 12th commitment to the 2012 Michigan State recruiting class. Burbridge is one of the highest ranked football recruits in Michigan this year, and his rankings certainly bear that out:
Rivals: 4-star, #19 WR, #2 in Michigan, #134 Overall
247 Sports: 4-star, Grade of 92, #29 WR, #4 in Michigan, #229 Overall
ESPN: 4-star, Grade of 79, #34 WR
Scout: 4-star, #16 WR
That's a consensus 4-star recruit, and clearly one of the best high school football players in Michigan currently. Out of the three top prospects (Burbridge, Mario Ojemudia, Devin Funchess) on Harrison this year, here's what one of them had to say in February about who was the best player on his team:
When asked who the best player on his team was, Farmington Hills Harrison (Mich.) defensive end Mario Ojemudia gave an interesting response.
"Aaron Burbridge," Ojemudia said without hesitation.
Ojemudia is headed to Michigan as is his teammate Funchess.
Sorry to cut this short, but I thought you'd like to know a bit about the 6'1", 180 lb. wide receiver. Burbridge, Kyle Kerrick and MacGarrett Kings Jr. will hopefully go a long way to replacing B.J. Cunningham, Keshawn Martin, and Keith Nichol, and Chris D. Rucker (as well as Donald Spencer), and unless an elite prospect wants to commit (Monty Madaris would qualify as one), Michigan State will be full at wide receiver in the 2011 class.
