I'm excited for this guy
Virtually the entire highlight reel is him banging down low, creating shots for himself, and finishing at & near the basket. I don’t know anything about the level of talent he’s going against, but notwithstanding that, he looks really good.
It’s always a good thing to have a big who is willling to bang down low all day. He & Kaminski coming in together could be a great 1-2 inside, I’m still convinced KK will grow some more & become more of a traditional 4, or a 5, than a 3, especially given the wing talent we’ll have then.
Both should spread the floor
KK is a pretty big kid, solid. Set some hard screens in games I saw. His offense is all jumper at this point. If he’s hot he can hit from everywhere. If he’s off he doesn’t do much else. At least not that I saw.
If Costello has any lefty moves to go with those highlight finishes, he’ll be a handful.
Hopefully that’s what he works on this season.

what what I’ve read, has no inside game. But he also claims to be working on that, so lets hope thats true. Honestly though, I doubt we are going to need him to be a dominant post presence really, at least not his first couple years. Nix, Payne, Gauna and Costello will be counted on more for bangin’ in the paint.
From what you saw did he rebound well?
Not really
He’s got a wide body which helps but not real active on the boards.
He didn’t really need to be, his aau team had some good athletes.
I believe he can hold his own, probably better than Sherman which I know isn’t saying much.

Did anyone else check out the Tyus Jones video? I can’t believe how polished he looks for his age. Great ball handling, finished going left and right, not afraid of contact, superb passer…no wonder all the big boys are after him already. Very impressed.

I was really impressed with his game. He’d look great running those fast paced offenses Izzo prefers.
