In the final season of the modern CCHA, MSU hockey will leave the state six times. The season opens up with two games at Minnesota. Home conference opponents include Bowling Green, Michigan, Ohio State, Ferris State, Notre Dame, Northern Michigan and Western Michigan. Road conference opponents include Lake Superior State, Bowling Green, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Ferris State and Alaska. There is a nonconference set against Penn State at Munn at the end of January, along with the Great Lakes Invitational being played at Comerica Park in December. MSU will face Western in the first GLI game.
