MSU Finishes At No. 34 In 2011-12 Directors' Cup

MSU came in 34th place for the 2011-12 Directors' Cup, which determines the top athletic program in the country by awarding points in pre-determined sports. MSU's place put it in seventh in the Big Ten. On the other hand, MSU is fourth in the Big Ten in the number of varsity teams, which is an accomplishment in itself, especially in this economy. Stanford took the top spot for the 18th year in a row.
