Mike Carter-US PRESSWIRE
With less than five weeks until signing day, MSU looks to add a couple more recruits to the class of 2013.
As signing day (Feb. 6) approaches, the Spartans still are in on some recruits to close out the 2013 class.
Two weeks will be the big visitor weekend, as Ohio State comes to East Lansing and many players from both the 2013 class and 2014 class will be on campus.
Many committed 2013 players will make their official visits that weekend, as will players committed elsewhere, uncommitted prospects and many of players MSU has their sights set on in future classes.
The next month will be an interesting one for all you recruitniks out there, like myself. Enjoy the ride.
Chesapeake Bowl top performers (247) - Delton Williams played in an all-star game for players from New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania vs. Maryland, West Virginia, DC and Virginia. He came away impressing those in attendances, with a couple big hits and an interception. Williams also was named the Pennsylvania Football News' Class AAA defensive player of the year.
O-D Bowl: Shane Jones (Scout) - Commit Shane Jones played in the Offense-Defense Bowl and had a safety and six tackles. He talks about his commitment to MSU.
Army: Tyler Boyd (Rivals) - Wide receiver Tyler Boyd could make a commitment to Pitt tomorrow at the Army All-American Bowl, but if not, a visit to Michigan State is on the schedule.
Semper Fi: James taking visits (Scout) - Wisconsin DE commit Alec James is one of the players the Spartans staff would most like to add to the 2013 class, and he says he "may be" taking a visit to MSU. James picked the Badgers over MSU and Notre Dame, among others.
Ohio LB looking to visit MSU (Rivals) - MSU already has two linebackers for the class of 2014, and Cleveland St. Ignatius junior Kyle Berger would be a top addition to the group. He also has an interesting connection to MSU - a good friendship with basketball player Kenny Kaminski.
Henderson may soon visit MSU again (247) - MSU's top 2014 quarterback target Caleb Henderson might be back on campus for a basketball game.
Webb may soon visit MSU again (247) - One of the top players in the state for 2014, Cass Tech CB Damon Webb is high on four schools, including MSU. An interesting note: The Spartans are the only team to offer Webb as a cornerback and wide receiver.
