I hope KJ doesn't mind me ripping off his title, but his post got me thinking about some of the implications of all that balance Izzo has at his disposal. One of these implications is more a curiosity than anything else, but it's quite likely that MSU, despite being at or near the top of B1G all season won't have a single first team all-conference player. I envision the first team looking like this:
DeShaun Thomas
Even more startling, I think a case can be made that second team could look as follows:
Aaron Craft (though I suspect Appling beats him out here)
As I note, Appling will probably beat out Craft, and Adreian Payne probably belongs on that second team over Richardson, but neither is a sure thing as both MSU guys have battled inconsistency during B1G play. In other words, I think it's entirely possible that one of the top teams in the country doesn't have a first or second team all conference player on its roster.
