Forget everything you know about Selection Sunday

This is an announcement for any college basketball fans watching the B1G Championship game this afternoon. What you are about to see is unique to these two teams. Michigan and Michigan State do not care about the Big Ten Tournament Championship (it's nice to have, but these teams are looking for a Final Four Run). They don't care about tournament seeding, their tournament resumes, or even their records. These teams, these schools, don't like each other. At all.

Don't believe me? Listen to Tom Izzo talking about the Wolverines two seasons ago:

"I don't like anything about Michigan, and they don't like anything about us, and that's the way it should be."

So today, when you watch the ACC, SEC, Sun Belt, and A10 Championships, feel free to discuss tournament seeding, bubble watch, and blind resumes. But don't think that any of that will matter in Indianapolis. Or in the state of Michigan. These two teams will have a third shot at each other, and the chance to send their rivals home disappointed is all they need to play for.

Forget everything you know about Selection Sunday. There is only Hate. And that's the way it should be.
