Michigan State Seed the 4th Seed in the East, will play Delaware in Round of 64

Andy Lyons

Off the momentum of a Big Ten tourney win, the Spartans are the #4 seed in the East, ready to play Delaware in the Round of 64.

Note: The game time has been announced: 4:40 Eastern, Thursday

It looks like the Big Ten tournament run would pay off in spades for the Spartans. However, they earned the number 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament in the East.  While the Spartans had been forecasted as a 5 seed by many as late as Friday, the Green and White put together some of their best basketball of the season in the past 48 hours to move up the ladder. While they may not have increased their seed as much as they liked, the matchups look manageable for a solid tourney run.

Their round of 64 opponent will be Delaware in Spokane (JUUUUUDDDDDD). The Blue Hens secured their spot in the NCAAs by winning the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. They're currently ranked 95th in KenPom.    Further down the bracket, they'll see Cincinnati, Virginia, and Villanova if the seeds hold (they won't).

In the coming days we'll have more analysis of the bracket. This team has already put together six great halves of basketball. Here's to putting together 12 more and cutting down the nets in North Texas.
