With Dayton's win over Stanford, tprice12 cannot be caught (Seer gained points with that, but so did tprice12, and Seer also had Stanford). While Seer has two teams left that tprice12 does not (Arizona and Florida), even if they both reach the title game the gain is only 18 points. Someone with the opportunity to gain off all four teams (also Wisconsin and Michigan) could gain 24 (with Wisconsin and Michigan meeting in the Final Four and the winner taking the title over Florida), but Seer is the only one that close.
For those curious, the top 16 teams as of now plus those still playing (marked with a *):
- Dayton* (33)
- Tennessee (27.5)
- Kentucky* (24)
- Connecticut* (21)
- Stanford (20)
- Mercer (14)
- Michigan State* (12)
- North Dakota State (12)
- Harvard (12)
- Baylor (12)
- Stephen F. Austin (12)
- Pittsburgh (9)
- 7-way tie between Albany, San Diego State, Louisville, Memphis, UCLA, Gonzaga, and Cal Poly (8)
Others still alive: Wisconsin (6), Michigan (6), Arizona (3), Florida (3)
A maximum score at this point is 240.5, although Wisconsin and Michigan (with one win) or Arizona and Florida (with two) can displace one of the 8-point teams.
