Big Ten Names Draymond Green As Jesse Owens Male Athlete Of The Year

The season has been over for some time, but the awards for Draymond Green keep coming in. On Monday, the Big Ten named Green as the Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year. Green is the second Spartan to win the award, joining former hockey goalie Ryan Miller in 2001.

Caleb Benenoch Decommits From MSU

This was bound to happen sooner or later. Spartan Tailgate reports that Texas OL recruit Caleb Benenoch has decommitted from MSU. He chose the Spartans early in the recruiting process — before his stock blew up. He has since received offers from a ton of Big 12 and SEC schools, and his commitment to MSU was starting to waver publicly. I'll have more on this in Wednesday's recruiting roundup.

The Golden Nugget released point spreads for the top college football games in 2012. Six MSU games are on the list.

MSU Baseball Loses 3 Juniors To MLB

From the LSJ's Chris Solari, all three MSU baseball juniors signed with the respective teams that drafted them. Third baseman Torsten Boss (Orioles), second baseman Ryan Jones (Giants) and pitcher Tony Wieber (Padres) all are done in the Green and White. Senior Tony Bucciferro also signed with the White Sox. The MSU team will look much different next season. Incoming freshman pitcher Justin Alleman has until July 13 to decided between signing with the Royals or coming to MSU.
