The photograph captures the action of the January 1, 1954 Rose Bowl game against UCLA. Michigan State won the game 28-20.
MSC's first touchdown in the game came on a blocked punt returned by Ellis Duckett. MSC went 9-1 that season, and the Rose Bowl win was Biggie Munn's last game as head coach.
