Notes:

• I’ve broken the players out into three categories. The 2 and 3 spots (wings) tend to be interchangeable in Tom Izzo’s system, as do the 4 and 5 spots (bigs).  Keith Appling, Brandan Kearney, and Denzel Valentine may not  fit the categories as well as previous Spartan guards, though.  Same deal from Kaminski: depending on how he develops, he could end up at the 3, the 4, or both.
  
• With the departures of Tom Herzog and Chris Allen, Austin Thornton and Mike Kebler will use the team's 12th and 13th scholarships this season.  Barring attrition, Thornton would go off scholarship for 2011-12.
  
• It seems highly likely that Alex Gauna will redshirt as a freshman, given the glut of big men on the roster for the 2010-11 season (not reflected above, though).
• Barring attrition or a decommitment, the 2011 and 2012 classes are both now full.  Two spots are available for the 2013 class.
