So, when Dawson signed, I wrote this:
"Scout: 4 stars, #28 nationally, #6 small forward. I would expect that this rating will be rising soon, as Dave Telep, Scout's head basketball recruiting expert, is one of Dawson's biggest proponents."
And so it went: in Scout's newly-released rankings, Dawson gains a fifth star and moves up 13 places in the national rankings to #15 (#4 small forward). [EDIT: And Rivals now has moved him from #25 to #13 nationally.]
And best of all, he's going to be a Spartan.
Brandan Kearney of Detroit Southeastern, one of the top basketball recruits in the state for 2011, is expected to pick Michigan State, according to a report. [ . . . ]
Kearney, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound small forward, is considered a four-star recruit by Scout.com and the No. 9 player at his position in the country.
