Derrick Nix Not Traveling to Maui Due to Personal Reasons

Izzo said at practice today sophomore center Derrick Nix will not travel to Maui for personal reasons. Said Nix is not suspended.

Perhaps we'll hear some tactful explanations on this soon. I hope it's nothing too serious for Derrick personally nor his future as a Spartan. Izzo did say that he is not suspended.

Not the most shocking of news items. In other early-basketball-practice news, Tom Herzog is getting some of the old Goran Suton treatment from Izzo (which is a good thing), and there don't appear to be any red flags with Korie Lucious' return to the court. Lastly, the Green-White scrimmage is set for 3:30 this Saturday. Doors open at 2:00 with autographs before the scrimmage. Saturday can't come soon enough.
