Spartans reach 10-year football agreement with Michigan MAC teams, including road games at each

OK, so I like locking in CMU, EMU, and WMU as nonconference opponents. If you're going to play a couple non-BCS-league teams every year, they might as well be teams your fans have some vague knowledge of. But can some explain to me what the upside of playing these teams on the road is--from either a financial or football perspective? Do the MAC schools have that much leverage now with four nonconference slots for everyone to fill?
