My Final Answer

[Basically copied from my comment in the previous thread/Twitter, but--what the heck--let's put it on the front page so I can either look very smart or very dumb at some point in the next 24-72 hours.]

Fundamentally, nothing's changed from Wednesday, when I argued Izzo would stay. This was an opportunity he had to explore.  But there's too much uncertainty regarding LeBron (with the additional uncertainty of Byron Scott's coaching candidacy now).  His love for what he's built at MSU ultimately pulls him back.

It's tough to stay positive the longer things drag out, but I still think that’s the most likely scenario here.

I'm leaving shortly to head down to Detroit for the Tigers game tonight, so I'll be out of blogging commission until roughly midnight.  I leave you in the capable hands of LVS and Pete.
