Big Ten rankings: No. 18, Kirk Cousins - Big Ten Blog - ESPN
"Cousins took another step forward and guided Michigan State to its first Big Ten championship in two decades. He passed for 200 yards or more in seven games and put together one of the best statistical seasons in team history, ranking among the Spartans' top 10 in completion percentage (second at 66.9), pass completions (third with 226), passing yards (third with 2,825), touchdown passes (tied for fourth with 20), total offense (fourth with 2,689 yards) and pass attempts (sixth with 338). Perhaps more impressive was the fact he played the second half of the season with a sprained shoulder and a sprained ankle." -

Deserving choice obviously, although I think he's become a bit less of an icon at MSU now as the Izzo era has gone on. Show airs at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. -

Your take on Michigan State's sport identity - Big Ten Blog - ESPN
That age-old debate: Football school or basketball school? In terms of on-field/court success, it's basketball in a landslide, of course. But, despite my basketball-first mentality, I find the football-school arguments pretty convincing. Not a lot of schools put up the football attendance numbers MSU does, despite a relative lack of success in recent decades. And you can't beat the buzz of a football Saturday on campus. Countervailing fact: the lack of sell-outs down the stretch in a 11-1 regular season--although the economy was no doubt a factor. Only solution to the quandary: post a poll and argue about it in the comments all day.
