Linking Laconically Is Really Looking Forward to the Weekend You Guys

Sunday night U2 takes the stage in Spartan Stadium, and many of us at or formerly of the blog (LVS, KJ, and myself specifically) will be there.  I know the Irishmen may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think we can all agree that it's a great showcase for MSU and East Lansing.  Onto the links!

WR Donald Spencer transferring from Michigan State | Detroit Free Press | freep.com  Spencer was behind many wide receivers on the depth chart, and will continue his career at Indiana State.  We wish him the best, and Michigan State might take two more wide receivers along with Kyle Kerrick in this recruiting class.

Report: Spartans add commitment from Indiana tight end Josiah Price | MLive.com More on Price on Monday, but the tight end commit is Michigan State's ninth overall.

Miller, Knox at All-Star Game Media Day - LSJ Blogs: Hey, Joe 2011 defensive line recruit Damon Knox isn't sure whether the coaches want him to redshirt or not this season; it'll be a decision made during camp in August.

Michigan State's Lucas, Summers go undrafted | state, michigan, summers - WWMT NEWSCHANNEL 3  They'll have to make their way through the free agent market to find a team.

An unlikely Spartan's name called on draft day - LSJ Blogs: Hey, Joe  Erazem Lorbek was involved as he went from the Pacers to the Spurs.  He won't be in the NBA next season however, as he'll still play with F.C. Barcelona.

Schneider: New Spartan Stadium turf coming from Colorado | Lansing State Journal | lansingstatejournal.com This should explain why MSU had to have the turf grown in Colorado instead on campus.  Long story short -- MSU didn't have the right type of soil in 2010.

Draymond Green gives football a shot, but will stick with Michigan State basketball | MLive.com Obvious headline is obvious, but does have this nugget about basketball:

"We’ve had some open gyms and we’re looking good," Green said. "The recruits can't play with us until they’re officially on campus in the fall. We’ve got some good players. Our recruits are wings and forwards, not big guys. That’s OK with me. That’s all we need.

"I can play center. People say I’m a forward or a guard or I can play center or point. After you get past all that, I’m just a player. I just play basketball."

Recruiting: Top running back visits Michigan State | Detroit Free Press | freep.com  Four-star running back William Mahone visited campus yesterday, and Georgia running back Nick Tompkins has MSU in his top three.

Michigan State's Tom Izzo, Mark Dantonio to parcipate in Meijer State Games of Michigan opening ceremonies | MLive.com It's like The Olympics, only in Michigan!

Michigan State has tradition in a host of sports - Omaha.com A brief look at MSU from a Cornhusker perspective.

Devaney to Dantonio: Long-lost brethren? - Omaha.com  And finally, I end on this note -- Michigan State was talking to Tom Osborne about the head coach position in 1999 and 2002.  They hired Bobby Williams and John L. Smith instead.  Remember that fact when you complain about the administration now.
