MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS vs the GEORGIA BULLDOGS

A season that's had some of the highest peaks and lowest nadirs in Michigan State history comes to a close today as the Spartans battle the Georgia Bulldogs in the Outback Bowl. You may remember the Bulldogs from such games as the 2009 Capital One Bowl, when Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno finally overcame a craptacular first half (MSU led 6-3 at halftime) to win 24-12.

Spencer Hall nee Orson Swindle had this to say in his rootability index today, and I think it's apropos:

...while all Michigan State does is win or lose games by pressing the very envelope of what its fans can tolerate on an emotional level without killing them. (The games against Wisconsin alone took years off the lives of Spartan fans, and local insurance tables have been adjusted to reflect this change.)

If you ride the lightning, Michigan State is obviously your pick. (Is it acceptable to drink heavily at noon watching this game? Are we in America? Are you watching Michigan State football? Then it is not only acceptable, but also recommended.)

Yup, that sounds about right. Same rules as always: No links to illegal game streams (and why would you need one since it's on ABC), no slurs, and be cool to one another. Enjoy the game everyone.

GO GREEN, GO WHITE, BEAT GEORGIA.
