Football 'Crootin Roundup is sticking together

Looking at the past week in MSU football recruiting

Mike Carter-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The big news — and only news, really — over the past week was the commitment of Delton Williams. You can read his Welcome Aboard piece here. Williams and high school teammate QB Damion Terry said for a long time they wanted to play at the same college, and it appears they will. Williams is commit No. 14, and the few spots remaining in the 2013 class continue to dwindle down. Most of the focus now for this class will be the offensive and defensive line.

Speaking of Terry...

He's having a good year. 23-1 TD to INT ratio, and his team is 6-0. You can watch his midseason highlight tape here.

Prep round-up: Spartan targets shine (Rivals) - A look at some performances last weekend by MSU commits.

Spartans after Sunshine State star (Rivals) - 2014 Tampa safety T.J. Harrell has offers from 10 schools and says MSU is one of his top ones at the moment. Harrell is the cousin of former Spartan Jeremy Ware, so the fact the MSU coaches got him into the NFL is a big selling point.

"I've made really good contact with Coach Barnett; I talk to him every week. I love Michigan State; my cousin Jeremy Ware went there so it's most definitely a top school for me right now."

Johnson visits MSU (Scout)- 2014 Minnesota QB Ricardo Johnson visited for the Ohio State game and had a great time. Per scout, he only holds an offer from Hawaii right now.

"It was great. It was one of the best experiences I ever had," he explained. "Being able to go with my dad, sit in the stadium, saw the facilities, and I got to see the 'go green, go white' chants that shake the stadium, and it was a great experience."

Spartans looking at Rice RB for 2014 (Rivals) - Brother Rice running back Brian Walker says he's getting more interest from MSU than anyone else, including MAC and other Big Ten schools. He says he grew up an MSU fan and an offer would "mean the world."

In-state prospect nearing offer? (247) - 2014 Southfield DE Lawrence Marshall says MSU is talking to him very other day. He visited for the Notre Dame game and will again for the Iowa game. He currently has offers from San Diego State and Bowling Green, but an MSU offer may be on the way.
