Kilgore overcomes obstacles (Scout) - MSU receiver commit Trey Kilgore missed his team's first seven games with a foot injury. He finished the season with 12 catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
Dawson talks Michigan State (247) - Four-star Cass Tech OL David Dawson was able to make it up for the second half of MSU-Nebraska (he had a playoff game that day) and MSU officially offered him. He still has top three of MSU, OSU and Wisconsin (no order), but many think Wisconsin might not have room. He's planning on going to OSU-Michigan, but wants to visit MSU again before making a decision.
Turner ready to commit to MSU? (247) - This was in last week's roundup, but it's relevant, as two-star Harper Woods defensive end is visiting for the Northwestern game and says he likely would commit if offered. He could also be offered a greyshirt.
The Recruiting Landscape (Rivals) - SpartanMag sets the table for 2013. MSU might be the favorite for Dawson, as well as JUCO DT Kyle Peko. Those two positions should fill up the class, unless a larger number of players than expected leave for the NFL Draft. Peko wants to enroll in school in January, so he could make a decision around Dec. 15.
Peko mention!
Top JUCO DT talks top schools (Scout) - Four-star JUCO DT Marquel Combs has 47 offers, and MSU is in his top seven, along with Oregon, Oregon State, Kansas State, Cal, Washington State and Iowa State. His junior college is in California, but he is from Tennessee. Asked to comment on each school, he had high praise for Ted Gill.
"They play great football there and I really like what coach (Ted) Gill stands for and his approach to things. He's had so much success. You don't last for 35 years coaching unless you are good at what you do."
Augusta makes a change (247) - Four-star Illinois DT Josh Augusta has added Ole Miss to his list, giving him a top four. MSU sits at No. 2, behind Missouri. Augusta says he will visit all four schools before making a decision.
2014
Spartans offer 4-star cornerback (247) - As expected, MSU officially offered four-star Ohio quarterback DeShone Kizer.
Roney, running backs and rankings (Rivals) - Matt Dorsey touches on topics such as JUCO running backs if Le'Veon Bell leaves (not many there) and where MSU's 2014 recruits will be ranked. Drake Harris and Byron Bullough won't be making it to many camps because of basketball season.
Spartans looking closely at legacy (Rivals) - Former MSU linebacker Jim Morrissey's son, Matt, is getting interest from a lot of Big Ten schools. The safety currently has an offer from Toledo.
